What’s something you believe everyone should know.
If you want to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit.
If you make your diet up of fast food and processed food you might not feel your best, but as long as the calories within in it equates to less than you burn for a consistent period of time you will lose weight.
Weight loss and optimum health aren’t one and the same so you don’t need to stress because you ate a load of chocolate last night, the food in itself isn’t going to detail progress.

I find that I eat more if I exercise!!

Makes sense as you’re moving more so burning a bit more – all ok as long as your still in a deficit (for weight loss). One tip – calculate your TDEE so you include how active you normally are within your calorie goal and then work to that figure.

I find the ease of being in a caloric surplus surprising. It does not take much to tip the scale, especially with processed foods.

It really doesn’t. I’m not adverse to processed food but if you want to lose weight and enjoy food you definitely get more ‘bang for your buck’ by preparing things from scratch.
